Bridgeman Images is proud to represent the fine art and reportage photography of Erich Lessing. A former Magnum photographer, Lessing was one of the first photographers on the ground during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, a series of events that began with a mass rally in Budapest and ended with Soviet tanks violently crushing the uprising. Lessing’s images captured the courage, chaos and human cost of the protest and were published worldwide, launching his photographic career and establishing him as one of the leading photojournalists of the post-war era.

Connecticut-based artist Mark Maritato brings military historical events alive on his canvases. His original paintings of epic military battles and individual soldier uniform studies reside in numerous private and institutional collections around the world. "I am very thankful to be able to combine my two passions of painting with the study of history and material culture through my work." At a young age, his love for art and history led Maritato to pursue a career as an artist. Maritato’s original oil paintings are renowned among private collectors and public institutions for their high degree of quality, accuracy and attention to detail. 

Images of War holds an extensive collection of war footage from the early 1900s up to the first Gulf War of 1992, including Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. The collection contains over 14 hours of World War I footage as well as footage from almost every military campaign of World War II. In addition, the collection contains social and political footage from big cultural figures of the 20th Century including John F. Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Martin Luther King Jr., and Elvis.
