This month, we present a curated selection of costumes and designs from the Fashion Museum, Bath, spotlight iconic architectural works from the Estate of Aldo Rossi, and showcase exclusive footage from François Arseneault, spanning over 80 countries.

Doris Langley Moore, fashion historian, Lord Byron scholar and author of the 1940s ballet, ‘The Quest’, founded The Museum of Costume in Bath in 1963. The museum has since evolved to become the Fashion Museum and includes not only Langley Moore’s own collection of fashion plates, costumes and accessories but an extensive display of menswear, womenswear, fashion photography and illustration that provides a comprehensive overview of British fashion from the late 16th century to the present day.

Aldo Rossi (1931–1997) studied architecture at the Milan Polytechnic, later becoming a professor there and at ETH Zurich, while collaborating with universities worldwide. His architectural works include the Gallaratese residential unit in Milan, Berlin’s Kochstrasse block, Fukuoka’s Hotel Il Palazzo, and Maastricht’s Bonnefantenmuseum, among others across Europe, the Americas, and the Far East.

A renowned historian and theorist, Rossi published several books such as The Architecture of the City, co-directed Ornamento e delitto, and curated architectural sections for the Triennale di Milano and Venice Biennale. He received the Pritzker Prize (1990) and the Thomas Jefferson Medal (1992). Beyond architecture, he collaborated with brands like Alessi and Artemide, and his artistic legacy endures in works like Teatro del Mondo (1979) and the Monument to Sandro Pertini (1988–90).

François Arseneault, a Western Canada-based videographer, has spent 40 years capturing subjects from motorsports to military operations. A stock footage contributor since 1987, he has filmed worldwide, including NATO assignments in Bosnia and Kosovo. Passionate about preservation, he maintains a vast 16mm film archive (1923–91) covering 80+ countries.
